Last week marked 45 years since the release of Signing Off. Still one of the greatest ever debut albums imho. I first saw UB40 that year in August 1980. I was just approaching 13 years old - on holiday with my parents in Gemenos, France. UB were on their first European Tour, playing at an open-air amphitheatre close by - supported by Burning Spear and Afrikan Star. I went to the gig with my older brother Brian. It was a night that had a profound influence on my passion for music. 45 years ago. Food for Thought indeed.
